Dance like there's nobody watching...

“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”

~William W. Purkey

From the events in Bedford last Saturday!

Dance - Events in Bedford

There was too much distraction on the picture due to the audience around. Blurred the background using CS5 and changed it to monochrome!

I had no idea what dance it was, loved the colours and the moves...

Hope you all have had a great start to the week, have a good one!

Peace and love...

Shadows will fall behind you!

Overcast with chance of showers.. for 10 sodden years

(But don't worry, chance of sunny spell in 2023)

Oh my my....I am upset!!!

With the weather predicted for the next 10 years, as years with wet summer, I've been sulking! No wonder why I'm feeling too low!:'(

Just glancing through the sunshine pictures and keeping me inspired!

Shadows behind!

Keep your face always towards the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you.

~ Walt Whitman

Trying to get inspired.....

Hope you all had a wonderful day! Can't wait for tomorrow till I finish work!

Have a good evening everyone, while I gaze through my window at the showers outside!!!

Peace and love.........

When the Sun goes down!

Loving the beautiful skies these days....
Enjoying their drama through my window!

Sun goes down - Dusky Sky

Don't lose hope.
When the sun goes down,
the stars come out.

If there is one thing in life that you can never lose beside yourself,
it is the hope for a better day,
because there will always be one.

Just as there are bad times;
there will come good times as well.

And even though things may seem uncertain in the moment,
and even though fear may be trying to cloud your mind,
fill your mind with hopeful thoughts,
and remember to keep stepping out on faith as well.

Liked the quotes above and feeling inspired + motivated...

Happy Weekend!

Peace and Love...

Something to inspire...

So another week is almost there, and the weekend has quietly slid past. We're almost towards the middle of this year and this makes me wonder, "Where have the days gone?"

"Do what you can with what you've got wherever you are."

Never look at others and worry about what you do not have, but instead, be happy and content with what you have and be grateful for that. Do your best, help when you can and wherever you can....

And, posting a picture from Summer 2012, as I still haven't got out of my little den to shoot pictures this Summer. I need to stay motivated......

These are from the gardens by the Embankment.

I leave you all with these thoughts and hoping you all will be having a wonderful week ahead...

Sending you all some warm smiles...and it is a bit warm here today!

Year without a Summer...

In the Spring of 1315,
there began an era of unpredictable weather,
It did not lift until 1851.

You remember 1816 as the year without a summer.
June 1816,

a sudden snowstorm blankets all the countryside,
So Mary Shelley had to stay inside and she wrote Frankenstein,
Oh, 1816 was the year without a summer.

Grain couldn't ripen under these conditions,
It was brought indoors in urns and pots.
It'd go from ninety-five degrees to freezing within hours,
A brutal struggle for the people and the starving livestock.

Above lyrics from Rasputina - A year without a Summer

I could not stop singing this song in my mind...

This is how the weather makes me feel...

Hoping for some warm sunshine :-)

Wishing you all a lovely weekend
And...
Sending you warm smiles from my corner of the world...

Peace...

Frozen-White Spring!!!

So, this week started off with heavy snow and biting cold winds; 20 to 25 mph while the temperatures were between -5 and 1 degree Celsius giving a feel of less than -10 or even -14 degree Celsius. It's not that I do not like winter; in fact I love winter, for its beauty; the frost, the snowfall that brightens up the landscapes, the foggy days...

This was 2 days after the snowfall, something that I least expected!

The snowfall was heavier where I work, so last Monday, at work, I was taken by surprise; the thick layers of snow over the fences and hedgerows, while the alleyway and the front area of the building were covered in frozen sheets of ice, I call it a "lethal ice rink." This makes my colleagues laugh! Wonder why! Maybe ice rinks are not supposed to be lethal!

Peek-a-boo....has the snow stopped !!!

Well, this weather just did not help; in order to cheer me up, I walked down the road from my office at lunch break. I wasn't disappointed as I had a few beautiful shots to capture. Nature always has something for you; never fails to surprise you! It was fun, seriously fun; "Frozen Memories!"

Frozen surprises!

“Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all.”
~Emily Dickinson

These buds are hope that spring isn't far away :-)

We are still having some flurries this weekend! But I am staying home! Hoping for the spring!

Hope you're all having a beautiful weekend !

Peace!

Light at the end of the Tunnel...

Light at the end of the Tunnel!!!

This is what struck my mind as I saw this scene. It was a bit worrying to see the river flooded, although it wasn't causing much damage around, the colour of the water turning brown signaled something to me.

This is a pathway people use to get to the other side of the river, and it was flooded and slushy, but the view was worth it all. I looked through and could see a brighter side where people were feeding the geese and the swans. Thought it was a great view, and clicked a few pictures with my mobile and camera.

P.S: The pictures I have shared here were taken with my mobile...
Pictures were converted to black and white to minimise distraction and focus on the brighter spot alone.

I did get a few shots staying far away, wasn't satisfied with the results, cos that was not the way I wanted it. I wanted that dark spooky effect with light at the end! I wanted to bring out that transition...

I moved a bit further towards the bridge. As I stooped down to get a shot, I saw this couple waiting at this end debating if they should cross over to the other side this way or take the longer route, when the man decided to take this route. I remembered Demi Lovato's quotes:

No matter what you're going through,
there's a light at the end of the tunnel
and it may seem hard to get to it
but you can do it and just keep working towards it
and you'll find the positive side of things.
~Demi Lovato

I thought nothing could be better here, with a subject in this frame and here it is :-)

Also remembering Ada Adams's quote, “There is a light at the end of every tunnel. Some tunnels just happen to be longer than others.”

So my dear friends,

There is always light at the end of the tunnel!
Never give up!

Have a great weekend friends...
Peace and love...

The Riverside Walk by the Woods!

I remembered what John Lubbock had quoted when I was walking in the woods by the riverside!

Earth and sky, woods and fields,
lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea,
are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than
we can ever learn from books.
~John Lubbock

So true, I am without doubt one of those "some" that John Lubbock has mentioned. As I write this down, I can feel that in my heart, how miraculously nature can work and also its way of healing so many things that are limitless to be mentioning here.

Sharing here the pictures that were taken during this particular walk!

The beauty of the woods
The songs of the birds
The sound of the river
The wait for the morning Sun
The cool Winter breeze
The gentle warmth it holds
And the peaceful walk
Nothing can compare!
~Livingsta

I leave you all with these beautiful feelings that I experienced, and hope you all had a blessed weekend! Have a wonderful week ahead! Blessings and Peace!
