Dance like there's nobody watching...

“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”

~William W. Purkey

From the events in Bedford last Saturday!

Dance - Events in Bedford

There was too much distraction on the picture due to the audience around. Blurred the background using CS5 and changed it to monochrome!

I had no idea what dance it was, loved the colours and the moves...

Hope you all have had a great start to the week, have a good one!

Peace and love...

The Spiders...

“The spider's web:

She finds an innocuous corner in which to spin her web.
The longer the web takes, the more fabulous its construction.
She has no need to chase.
She sits quietly, her patience a consummate force;
she waits for her prey to come to her on their own, and then she ensnares them, injects them with venom, rendering them unable to escape.

Spiders – so needed and yet so misunderstood.”

~Donna Lynn Hope

Reflection...

Be a reflection of what you’d like to see in others!
If you want love, give love,
If you want honesty, give honesty,
If you want respect, give respect.
You get in return, what you give!

Bedford Dragon Boat Race - July 2013

This one is from the Dragon Boat Race here in Bedford today and this was in aid of three local charities (Autism Bedfordshire, Bedford Foodbank and Bedford Sea Cadets).

Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition. The three crews you see here are the ones that made it to the finals.

Tried a video and sorry about the shake. I was managing to take pictures with my mobile whilst doing this video.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. It's almost Monday. Have a great week ahead everyone!

Walk by the river

Photo from my walk down the river today, a long few hours walk after a long few months break. I need to start doing this more often. 'Twas a lovely extra warm day, but the most wanted after the long winter and rainy and cold spring. We  hope this lasts for sometime.

Bit frustrated about my camera's battery these days, as it dies out pretty quick. Time for a replacement I guess after 5 years of use! Sharing the guys from the boating club on the river!

Enjoy the warm days while they last, have all the fun in the Sun :-)

Have a blessed Sunday dear ones!

Ampthill Methodist Church

Sharing here with you all today, the Ampthill Methodist Church that was built in the late 1800s.

Seriously made me wonder, why all these years, that is after working in that beautiful Georgian town, Ampthill for more than 3.5 years, I never took a chance to walk around that town and explore its historic beauty and other things. I was determined today that I would make my walk to the pharmacy a fruitful one and here I am with a beautiful photo of this church. There are many more churches and places to explore, and I will be sharing them as I visit.

P.S: This little & beautiful town is of huge historic importance and I will be sharing a lot with you here. Stay updated!!!

Have a lovely weekend everyone, enjoy the warmth of the Sun...

Year without a Summer...

In the Spring of 1315,
there began an era of unpredictable weather,
It did not lift until 1851.

You remember 1816 as the year without a summer.
June 1816,

a sudden snowstorm blankets all the countryside,
So Mary Shelley had to stay inside and she wrote Frankenstein,
Oh, 1816 was the year without a summer.

Grain couldn't ripen under these conditions,
It was brought indoors in urns and pots.
It'd go from ninety-five degrees to freezing within hours,
A brutal struggle for the people and the starving livestock.

Above lyrics from Rasputina - A year without a Summer

I could not stop singing this song in my mind...

This is how the weather makes me feel...

Hoping for some warm sunshine :-)

Wishing you all a lovely weekend
And...
Sending you warm smiles from my corner of the world...

Peace...

Ripples of Gold Dust!

Tuesday's walk back home from work, I must say that I was lucky for this one! A sunny day after weeks of cold, dark and wet days.

With the sunlight at it's right intensity and level, the reflections of trees by the riverbanks looked like paintings on water!

Walking over the bridge across the river, I could see these guys rowing their boat, and knew in a minute they would cross underneath the bridge and get to my side. Quickly grabbed my mobile for a click...

The ripples on the river water.....
The reflection of the sunlight, On those pretty ripples.....
Something from which I could not take my eyes off.....

Were they:
Ripples of Love?
Ripples of Peace?
Ripples of Gratitude?
Ripples of Hope?
Ripples of Joy?
Not sure!

But sure they resembled
Ripples of Gold dust!

Yes they did look like gold dust scattered on water! I did wait till they rowed away!

Have a lovely weekend friends! :-)

Do not suppress it-that would hurt you inside.
Do not express it-this would not only hurt you inside,
it would cause ripples in your surroundings.
What you do is transform it.
~Peace Pilgrim

Sending you all ripples of Peace, Love, Hope, Joy and Gratitude!
